Tiny, The Ant. (who lived on the terrace)
Tiny, the ant, was probably deaf. It didn't seem to hear any of the noisy ruckus of the sparrows in the trees nearby or the noisy rumbling and honking traffic from the roads below. It ran up and down the long length of the brick floor of the terrace in search of food. And it was one determined ant, like most deaf children are, knowing exactly what it wanted and going about it's job without being disturbed by the rest of the world.
Determined though it was, it's walk was quite quirky, for it would hardly ever walk in a straight line, except when it found a trail to the food it was searching for or back to it's home, carrying a bit of it's find. Most often it would be zigzagging up and down the terrace or flower pots or plants or the wall which went up to the tank. This was because it was searching and searching, most of the time, sent out often as a scout for anything edible to all the ants.
And you know what ??? Tiny, the ant, though it was very very tiny in size, it had managed to move a WHOLE BIG MOUNTAIN ... of Food, to it's home, just by working at it all it's Lifetime. Tiny, the ant, was indeed a great ant and yet nobody knew about it, for neither did Tiny show off it's greatness, but also nor did it try to hide it. It just wasn't bothered about such things. It was only concerned with it's work, and that was - to bring home all the food it could for the rest of the ants. But then the rest of the ants too were busy doing their own work. Sometimes building new rooms for their babies, or for storing the food the others like Tiny brought home, or repairing cracking old walls or even guarding their babies and home. Like Tiny they worked quietly, as if they couldn't speak, as if they were also dumb. But whether they couldn't hear or they couldn't speak, nobody could tell by just seeing them at their work, but they were definitely a determined team ... and WOW ! Could they move MOUNTAINS !?! :) !!!
Tiny died unsung, when it made the mistake of biting The Boy on his hand repeatedly. Nobody knows why it bit the boy's hand.
What do you say ? Was it to gain attention from the boy or was it angry with the boy for some reason ? Or did Tiny think the boy's hand was edible enough for those ants at home ?
Whatever the reason may be, The Boy simply got irritated, picked up Tiny between his fingers and squashed it till it's bones cracked and threw it away. That was the end of Tiny. But not quite THE END. Tiny was often remembered by IT'S friends for having done a good job through it's Lifetime, MOVING a MOUNTAIN, but quietly, ONE BIT AT A TIME. :) !!!
